Notably, he also pursued his interest in track and field as a thrower and participated in summer basketball for the Oakland Soldiers.

Gordon’s dedication to both sports further exemplified his athleticism and commitment to excelling in his pursuits.

During his sophomore year in 2010-2011, Gordon played a crucial role in securing Mitty’s first state title in men’s basketball.

His exceptional performances contributed significantly to his team’s success. With Gordon leading the way, Mitty claimed victories in the WCAL regular season and playoffs, CCS Division II title, and Nor-Cal championship.

Their remarkable 32-2 record was further highlighted by a remarkable 20-game winning streak.

Gordon’s impact was undeniable, as he averaged an impressive 16.4 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game.

In the 2011 title game, he left an indelible mark, scoring 17 points and securing a record-breaking 21 rebounds.

Gordon’s accomplishments in high school and college basketball caught the attention of the Orlando Magic, who selected him with the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft.

This marked the beginning of his professional career, where he would continue to exhibit his skills on a larger stage.
