Steven James Doocy was born on October 19, 1956, in Algona, Iowa, to parents JoAnne and James Edward Doocy. He grew up in the small town of Abilene, Kansas, where he attended Kansas grade school and later Abilene High School.
After high school, Doocy attended the University of Kansas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. He began his career as a reporter for local TV stations in Topeka, Wichita, and Des Moines.
In 1989, Doocy joined NBC News as a correspondent, where he covered major events such as the Gulf War and the collapse of the Soviet Union. He later worked as a host for several NBC programs, including “House Party with Steve Doocy” and “Wake Up America.”

In 1996, Doocy joined the newly-launched Fox News Channel as a co-host of the morning show “Fox & Friends.” The show quickly became a hit, with Doocy’s engaging style and sense of humor helping to make it one of the network’s most popular programs.

She is currently a reporter for Fox News and has authored two books, “The Mr. & Mrs. Happy Handbook” (co-authored with her father) and “Assassination Generation: Video Games, Aggression, and the Psychology of Killing.”
In addition to his wife and children, Doocy also has several siblings. His brother, Tom Doocy, is a reporter for Fox News, while his sister, Cathy Doocy-Feldman, is a teacher in Kansas.
