Susanna Reid is an English television presenter and journalist known for her work on various morning shows. She co-presented BBC Breakfast from 2001 to 2014 alongside Bill Turnbull and Charlie Stayt. In 2013, she participated in Strictly Come Dancing and finished as a runner-up. Since 2014, she has been the lead presenter of ITV‘s Good Morning Britain.

Born on December 10, 1970, in Croydon, South London, Reid grew up as the youngest of three children. She attended Croham Hurst School, Croydon High School, and St Paul’s Girls’ School. Reid showed an early interest in acting and appeared in stage productions and television shows during her adolescence.

Reid pursued higher education at the University of Bristol, where she studied Politics and Philosophy. She served as the editor of the student newspaper, Epigram. Following her undergraduate studies, she trained as a journalist at Cardiff University’s Centre for Journalism and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

Reid’s career in broadcasting began in 1994 as a news producer at BBC Radio Bristol. She later became a producer for Radio 5 Live in 1996. She joined BBC News 24 as a reporter and eventually became a stand-in presenter after filling in for a missing colleague. This opportunity led to a permanent role as a presenter.

From 2012, Reid became one of the main presenters on BBC Breakfast, hosting alongside Bill Turnbull on weekdays and previously with Charlie Stayt on weekends. In 2010, she briefly stepped down from her weekend duties to work on a new program called Sunday Morning Live. However, she resumed her weekend presenting role shortly after.

Reid also contributed as a newsreader on The Andrew Marr Show and presented coverage of the Oscars in 2009 and 2010. In 2013, she participated in the eleventh series of Strictly Come Dancing, finishing as a runner-up alongside her professional dance partner Kevin Clifton.

In 2014, Reid made a notable move to ITV to co-host Good Morning Britain, a rival breakfast program to BBC Breakfast. She shares hosting duties with various male presenters during weekdays and with Ben Shephard on Thursdays. The show airs from 6 am to 9 am.

Reid has made appearances on other shows, such as Tipping Point and Hollyoaks, and participated in Celebrity Gogglebox in 2020. She continues to be an influential figure in the television industry, conducting high-profile interviews and delivering morning news and entertainment to viewers.
