Zooey Zephyr was born on August 29, 1988, in Billings, Montana. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in business administration and creative writing from the University of Washington in 2011. Later, she pursued her PhD from the University of Montana (UM).
Initially, Zephyr worked for the Biology department at UM. Later, she joined the Office of the Provost as a Program Manager in charge of monitoring academic programs.
In April 2023, Zephyr faced a ban from the House floor, gallery, and antechamber until the first week of May 2023.
