Hunter Biden’s paternity case involving his 4-year-old daughter, Navy Joan Roberts, continues to make headlines.
Roberts and Hunter Biden appeared in court on Monday in Batesville, Arkansas, where Independence County Circuit Judge Holly Meyer ordered that both parents be present for proceedings.
The judge’s order ended Hunter Biden’s attempt to appear in court only through his attorneys.
In January 2020, Meyer declared that Hunter Biden is the biological father of the child, with “near scientific certainty,” following a DNA test.
Although the paternity and child support case was resolved in 2020, Roberts reopened the case after Hunter Biden requested adjustments to the payments.
In December, Roberts requested that her daughter’s last name be changed to Biden, but Hunter Biden’s team demanded an explanation into why a name change would be in the child’s best interests.
During the hearing, Hunter Biden’s new attorney Abbe Lowell argued that his client has been paying $20,000 per month in child support, amounting to $750,000 paid so far.

Lunden Alexis Roberts, the child’s mother, has been in a legal battle with the president’s son over child support payments and the child’s last name.
Roberts, a former stripper at The Mpire Gentlemen’s Club in Washington, D.C., reportedly became pregnant with Hunter Biden’s child about five years ago, not long after he ended a relationship with his brother Beau Biden’s widow, Hallie Biden.
The girl was born in August 2018, the same month Hunter Biden married his second wife, Melissa Cohen.
Roberts’ Instagram profile, which has just over 6,000 followers, features several photos of the daughter she shares with Hunter Biden.
Most recently, she shared a photo of the blonde-tressed toddler with a pink bow in her hair during a trip to the beach.
Hunter Biden’s ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, whom he was married to from 1993 to 2017, detailed years of his alleged alcoholism, drug addiction, and infidelity in a memoir published last year.
For now, the paternity case involving Hunter Biden and Lunden Alexis Roberts continues, with no clear indication of when it will be resolved.
