Former UFC fighter Felipe Colares, who was also known as “Cabocão”, has passed away at the age of 29.
Felipe Colares began his professional MMA career in 2013 and won his first eight fights, establishing himself as a talented fighter.
Felipe Colares Cause Of Death
He was hit by a bus in Guaratiba, a large neighborhood in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Colares had just finished a training session when the accident occurred.
He later debuted in the UFC in 2019 against Geraldo de Freitas Jr. and fought for Dana White’s fight promotion several more times until he was released in 2022. Colares had a career record of 11-4.
In January of this year, Colares gained national attention when he used his jiu-jitsu skills to help stop a robbery in Brazil.
He was able to corral the suspect until the police arrived to take the man into custody.
Following Colares’ tragic passing, ARES Fighting Championship, where he last fought, sent their condolences to his family and friends.
His passing is a great loss to the MMA community. Rest in peace, Felipe Colares.
