Ponca City Public Schools is grieving over the loss of one of its former students, Nate Collins, who died in a car accident on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
Nate Collins was an 18-year-old graduate of Po-Hi school in Ponca City, Oklahoma. His death was confirmed to be due to injuries sustained in the accident.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Ranch Drive and Highland Avenue in Ponca City at around 6:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.
Nate Collins Cause Of Death
The collision involved a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, which Nate Collins was driving.
He was found unresponsive and was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The 16-year-old driver of the other vehicle did not suffer any injuries.
Ponca City Public Schools officials expressed their sorrow over the loss of Nate Collins in a social media post.
They stated that counselors would be available to provide support to students and staff members affected by his passing. The entire 2022 graduating class of Po-Hi school is also mourning his death.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the accident. In the meantime, condolences are being sent to Nate Collins’ family and friends during this difficult time.
