A 19-year-old was killed and three teenagers were injured in a car crash in the Town of Richland on Saturday night, April 22.
At around 9:07 p.m., deputies from the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a one-vehicle motor vehicle accident on County Route 2, west of Peck Road.
The investigation revealed that 36-year-old Matthew Groft of Pulaski was driving his 2016 Ford Focus traveling westbound on County Route 2 when he went off the south side of the road and struck a tree.
There were four teenagers in Groft’s car including 19-year-old Gerald Arzie of Richland, who was a rear passenger.

Arzie was taken to Upstate Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The other three teenagers were also transported to Upstate Hospital but only sustained minor injuries.
Groft was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
