Sifan Hassan is a Dutch middle- and long-distance runner who was born in Ethiopia on January 1, 1993.
She made history at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics by winning gold medals in the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres, as well as a bronze medal in the 1500 metres.
At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Hassan became the only athlete in Olympic history to win medals in both long-distance races and a middle-distance event in a single Games.
She also won both the 1500m and 10,000m titles at the 2019 World Athletics Championships, making her the first athlete (male or female) to win both events at a single World Championships or Olympic Games.
Additionally, she has won multiple European and Diamond League medals and holds several world and European records.
In April 2023, Hassan made headlines by winning the 2023 London Marathon in her debut over the classic 26.2-mile distance.
Despite suffering from a hip injury and making a mistake at a water station, she managed to pull away from her competitors and finish the race in two hours, 18 minutes, and 33 seconds.
Who are Sifan Hassan parents?
Not much information is available about Hassan’s parents, apart from the fact that they are from Adama, Ethiopia. Their names, dates of birth, ages, and occupations remain unknown.
