CEO of Seattle Kraken Age, Wife and Children
Tod Leiweke is a sports executive and part-owner, president, and CEO of the Seattle Kraken. He was born on January 12, 1960, in St. Louis, Missouri.
In the early 1980s, Leiweke served as the vice president of the New York Arrows indoor soccer team.
Leiweke has held executive positions with various sports organizations. He was the president of the Minnesota Wild and the first executive director of The First Tee.
He also held executive positions with the PGA Tour, the Vancouver Canucks, and the Golden State Warriors.
Additionally, he was the CEO of Vulcan Sports and Entertainment, a management company owned by Paul Allen that oversees Allen’s sports-related properties.
Leiweke joined the Seattle Seahawks in 2003 as their chief executive officer. He was instrumental in the decision to fire former coach Jim L. Mora and in the hiring of USC coach Pete Carroll.
During his tenure, the team made it to Super Bowl XL in 2005, where they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Leiweke served as acting president of the Portland Trail Blazers in 2007 when Vulcan Sports and Entertainment was created. He replaced Steve Patterson and served until Larry Miller was named president.
In 2010, Leiweke became the CEO and minority owner of Tampa Bay Sports & Entertainment. He was responsible for the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Tampa Bay Storm, Tampa Bay Times Forum, and the combined Cascade and TBSE Real Estate Project.
He resigned from these projects in July 2015 to join the NFL as their new chief operating officer. He resigned from this position on March 13, 2018.
Leiweke is currently the president and CEO of the Seattle Kraken, Seattle’s National Hockey League expansion team.
He became part of the ownership group in April 2018 and is also a minority owner of the Kraken.
Tod Leiweke is the younger brother of Tim Leiweke, the president and CEO of Oak View Group.

He and his wife Tara became part-owners of the Seattle Sounders FC of Major League Soccer in 2020. They have two children, Tyler Leiweke and Tori Leiweke.
