He is also a dedicated environmental activist and serves as the inaugural Vice Chair of Conservation International. Ford is married to actress Calista Flockhart.

Ford was born in Chicago to former radio actress Dorothy and advertising executive and former actor John William “Christopher” Ford.

He was raised to be “liberal of every stripe” and was a Boy Scout. Ford graduated from Maine East High School and attended Ripon College, where he was a philosophy major and a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart first met at the 2002 Golden Globes, where she was nominated for Ally McBeal and he was receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award.

At the time, Harrison was going through a divorce with his second wife.

Despite their 22-year age gap and Harrison’s four children from previous marriages, Harrison and Calista immediately hit it off at the event.

In June 2003, Harrison expressed his love for Calista to People magazine and spoke about the potential for romantic love at any stage of life.

Harrison and Calista were spotted together on casual outings and red carpet events.

In 2009, Harrison proposed to Calista on Valentine’s Day after seven years of dating, and around the same time, he legally adopted her son Liam.

They got married in June 2010 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with Liam in attendance.
